Oh, perhaps I should have been more specific. What I meant was that the color shade, lighting, shadows, and palette are so accurate to an environment like that which is depicted. So even though photo realism may not have been on the menu, if I squint my eyes I can see how this might be a real place...

Very nice setting, professionally executed. How much time did this take roughly? In any case, great attention to detail and really just like Hkm said the form on the trees is a bit simplified but it doesn't subtract from the end result. I love the Japanese illustration vibe, as in anime too where the artists usually work out backgrounds and settings pretty much like this one into very high realistic detail. I do suppose you thought about composition at one point, but I'll just mention that it does seem cramped on the right side. The composition is quite prominent here but all in all I really admire your work and it really is inspiring seeing you progress. Would definitely want to see more scenery from you, especially if this was fun for you to do. So get to those environment studies!
